Terms of Service

Effective date: July 22, 2026

These Terms of Use and Conditions form a legal agreement between you and CanadaDate, operated by SingleBuck Technologies, regarding your access to and use of the CanadaDate website, platform, accounts, profiles, communications, memberships, and related services.

By creating an account, accessing CanadaDate, posting content, purchasing a product or membership, or otherwise using the service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use CanadaDate.

1. About CanadaDate

CanadaDate is an online dating and social-discovery platform that allows eligible adults to create profiles, publish personal listings, browse other members, exchange private messages, and access optional paid memberships and premium features.

CanadaDate provides the technology that allows members to discover and communicate with one another. CanadaDate is not a matchmaking agency, relationship counsellor, background-check service, employment service, escort service, or guarantor of any relationship or outcome.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use CanadaDate.

By using CanadaDate, you represent that:

• You are at least 18 years of age.
• You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
• You are not impersonating another person.
• You are not legally prohibited from using the service.
• You will use CanadaDate only for lawful personal purposes.
• The information you provide is truthful and reasonably current.

CanadaDate may request age, identity, account, or payment verification where reasonably necessary. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate an account when eligibility cannot be established or where continued access may create a safety, legal, or security concern.

3. Personal Accounts

Your CanadaDate account is personal to you. Unless CanadaDate gives written permission, you may not sell, transfer, lend, share, or give another person access to your account.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and login credentials.
• Keeping your account information accurate.
• Activities occurring through your account.
• Promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
• Signing out when using a shared device.

You must not create accounts through automated methods or create additional accounts to evade a suspension, restriction, block, payment obligation, or enforcement action.

CanadaDate may limit the number of accounts associated with the same individual, device, telephone number, email address, payment method, or other identifying information.

4. Profiles and Listings

Your profile and listings must accurately represent you and must not be misleading.

You must not:

• Use another person’s photograph without permission.
• Falsely state your age, identity, location, relationship status, occupation, or intentions.
• Create an account for another person without authorization.
• Present a business, group, fictional character, or automated system as an individual member.
• Use heavily altered, deceptive, stolen, generated, or misleading profile images.
• Include contact details intended to bypass platform restrictions where prohibited by the service.
• Direct members to fraudulent, malicious, deceptive, or unsafe external websites.

CanadaDate may edit the formatting of content, crop or resize images, correct obvious display issues, assign categories, or remove content that violates these Terms.

5. Member Content

You retain ownership of the text, photographs, videos, messages, profile information, and other original content you submit to CanadaDate.

By submitting content, you grant CanadaDate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, display, transmit, and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote, and improve the CanadaDate service.

This licence allows CanadaDate and its service providers to:

• Display your profile and listings to other members.
• Generate thumbnails and mobile-friendly versions of uploaded media.
• Deliver your messages to their intended recipients.
• Display limited promotional previews of public-facing CanadaDate content.
• Preserve evidence connected to reports, disputes, security incidents, or legal requirements.

You confirm that you own your content or have permission to submit it and that its use by CanadaDate will not violate another person’s privacy, copyright, publicity, contractual, or other rights.

Removing content or deleting your account ends the licence for ordinary platform use. Copies may remain temporarily in backups or records retained for fraud prevention, safety, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or other legitimate purposes described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use CanadaDate to engage in unlawful, abusive, dangerous, deceptive, or exploitative conduct.

Prohibited conduct includes:

• Harassment, threats, stalking, intimidation, bullying, or coercion.
• Hate speech or attacks based on protected or personal characteristics.
• Sexual content involving anyone under 18.
• Solicitation or exploitation of minors.
• Human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or commercial sexual services.
• Sharing intimate content without the depicted person’s consent.
• Requests for money, gift cards, banking information, cryptocurrency, or financial assistance as part of a scam.
• Romance fraud, impersonation, catfishing, phishing, or identity theft.
• Advertising unrelated products, services, investment schemes, or employment opportunities.
• Sending repetitive, unsolicited, or bulk messages.
• Publishing another person’s private contact details or identifying information.
• Threatening to expose, embarrass, blackmail, or extort another person.
• Promoting violence, criminal activity, self-harm, or dangerous conduct.
• Uploading malware, malicious code, or harmful links.
• Scraping, copying, harvesting, indexing, or collecting member information without authorization.
• Using bots, automated messaging, artificial engagement, or unauthorized data-mining tools.
• Attempting to defeat account restrictions, payment controls, privacy protections, or security systems.
• Misusing reports, verification tools, payment disputes, or support systems.

CanadaDate may investigate suspected misconduct and may remove content or restrict access without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect members or the service.

7. Member Interactions and Safety

CanadaDate does not control the conduct, intentions, identity, accuracy, or actions of individual members.

Unless CanadaDate expressly states otherwise, it does not conduct criminal background checks on every member. A profile, verification badge, active-status indicator, support label, Viewer Insights result, or other platform indicator is not a guarantee that a person is safe, honest, compatible, or accurately represented.

You are responsible for exercising care when communicating with or meeting another member.

Recommended safety precautions include:

• Keep early conversations on the CanadaDate platform.
• Never send money or financial information to another member.
• Do not share passwords, security codes, or banking credentials.
• Meet for the first time in a public location.
• Tell a trusted person where you are going.
• Arrange your own transportation.
• Leave immediately if you feel unsafe.
• Report suspicious or abusive conduct to CanadaDate.

CanadaDate cannot guarantee that communications, meetings, relationships, transactions, or interactions between members will be safe, successful, truthful, or satisfactory.

8. Messaging

CanadaDate may provide private messaging and optional media-attachment features.

You must not use messaging to send illegal, abusive, threatening, unwanted, deceptive, or non-consensual content.

Messages are intended for the participating members, but CanadaDate may access, preserve, or review messages where reasonably necessary to:

• Investigate a report or safety issue.
• Provide requested technical support.
• Detect fraud, abuse, or security threats.
• Enforce these Terms.
• Comply with legal obligations.
• Protect the rights or safety of CanadaDate or another person.

You should not use CanadaDate messages to transmit information that you cannot safely risk being accessed, disclosed, copied, or retained.

Members may block one another. A blocked member must not attempt to continue contact through another account.

9. Location and Discovery Features

CanadaDate may offer location-based browsing, map search, radius discovery, distance estimates, or nearby-member features.

When you use these features, CanadaDate may process location information supplied by you, your device, your browser, or a mapping provider.

Displayed locations and distances may be approximate and should not be treated as exact. You should not publish your home address, precise workplace location, or another sensitive location in a public profile.

You may be able to change or limit location access through CanadaDate, your browser, or your device settings. Restricting location access may reduce the availability or accuracy of location-based features.

10. Viewer Insights and Reveal Mode

Where enabled and properly licensed by the site owner, Viewer Insights may provide information about activity associated with a member’s listings or profile.

Viewer Insights may include:

• Total or unique view counts.
• General activity trends.
• Listing-performance information.
• Approximate dates or times of activity.
• Information about members who have chosen to reveal their viewing activity.

Some activity may remain anonymous. Guest activity, privacy-restricted activity, duplicate views, blocked activity, browser limitations, technical filtering, or another member’s Reveal Mode settings may affect what is recorded or displayed.

Reveal Mode controls whether your identity may be shown when you view another eligible member’s listing. Keeping Reveal Mode disabled may allow your visit to remain anonymous while still contributing to aggregate statistics.

Viewer Insights information is provided for general interest only. It may not be complete, immediate, or perfectly accurate and should not be used to harass, pressure, monitor, or confront another member.

11. Verification and Status Indicators

CanadaDate may offer identity, selfie, profile, activity, administrator, or support indicators.

Verification means only that the account completed the particular process described by CanadaDate. It is not an endorsement, background check, guarantee of character, confirmation of every profile statement, or promise of safety.

Online and activity indicators may be delayed, approximate, or affected by browser sessions, device activity, caching, time-zone differences, or technical conditions.

You must not copy, imitate, falsify, or misuse a CanadaDate verification, administrator, support, or status badge.

12. Free and Paid Services

CanadaDate may offer both free and paid accounts, memberships, plans, upgrades, and optional features.

The features available to you depend on the product purchased, your account status, the configuration of the service, and any limitations displayed at checkout or in your account.

CanadaDate may add, remove, improve, replace, or modify features. A change will not remove a consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

Premium features do not guarantee:

• Matches or relationships.
• Replies or messages.
• Profile views.
• Increased popularity.
• Verification approval.
• Successful meetings.
• Continued access after account misconduct.

13. Prices, Taxes, and Payment

Prices, billing periods, applicable taxes, and mandatory charges will be displayed before payment is completed.

You authorize CanadaDate and its payment providers to charge the payment method selected for the amount shown at checkout.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply to payment processing.

You are responsible for providing accurate billing information and for ensuring that the selected payment method remains valid.

CanadaDate may correct obvious pricing or or technical errors before completing a transaction. When an incorrect amount has already been charged, CanadaDate may cancel, refund, or correct the affected order.

14. Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal

A product identified as a subscription or recurring membership will renew at the displayed billing interval until cancelled.

By purchasing a recurring product, you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method at the price and frequency shown during checkout.

You may cancel a recurring subscription using the available account controls or by contacting CanadaDate support.

Cancellation prevents future renewal charges. Unless otherwise stated, access already paid for will generally remain available until the end of the current billing period.

Deleting your profile or CanadaDate account does not necessarily cancel an active subscription. You should cancel the subscription before deleting your account or contact support for assistance.

CanadaDate may change the price of a future subscription period by providing reasonable notice before the new price applies. You may cancel before the next renewal if you do not accept the change.

15. Refunds and Cancellations

Purchases are governed by the CanadaDate Refund, Cancellation and Returns Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

Digital services are generally delivered immediately after payment. Refund availability may depend on whether the service was activated, used, incorrectly charged, not delivered, or affected by a verified technical failure.

Nothing in these Terms or the Refund Policy limits a cancellation, refund, or consumer-protection right that cannot legally be excluded.

16. Promotions

Promotions, discount codes, trials, introductory prices, and special offers may have additional terms.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

• Promotions cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Promotions cannot be combined.
• Eligibility may be limited.
• Promotions may expire.
• Introductory pricing may change to the displayed regular renewal price.
• Abuse of a promotion may result in its cancellation.

Where promotional terms conflict with these general Terms, the specific written terms of the promotion govern that offer.

17. Communications

CanadaDate may send service-related communications necessary to operate your account, including security alerts, purchase confirmations, password notices, moderation notices, support responses, and changes affecting your membership.

Marketing or promotional communications will be sent in accordance with applicable consent requirements. Where an unsubscribe option is provided, you may use it to stop future promotional messages.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent CanadaDate from sending essential account, transaction, safety, security, or legal notices.

18. Privacy

CanadaDate’s collection, use, retention, protection, and disclosure of personal information are governed by its Privacy Policy.

By using CanadaDate, you acknowledge that the service must process certain information to provide accounts, profiles, messaging, discovery, security, payment, moderation, verification, and support features.

You should review the Privacy Policy before creating an account or submitting personal information.

19. Intellectual Property

CanadaDate and its associated names, logos, designs, software, interface elements, documentation, databases, branding, and original content are owned by or licensed to CanadaDate or SingleBuck Technologies.

Except as expressly permitted, you may not:

• Copy or reproduce CanadaDate software or design.
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code.
• Create an unauthorized competing database from member information.
• Use CanadaDate branding in a misleading manner.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service.
• Frame or mirror CanadaDate on another website.
• Remove copyright, trademark, or ownership notices.

Limited personal use of CanadaDate does not transfer ownership of any platform intellectual property to you.

20. Copyright and Rights Complaints

CanadaDate respects intellectual-property and personal rights.

A person who believes that content on CanadaDate infringes their copyright, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights may submit a report through the CanadaDate support system.

The report should identify:

• The protected work or right.
• The content alleged to be infringing.
• The location of the content.
• The reporting person’s contact information.
• An explanation of the complaint.
• Any supporting evidence.

CanadaDate may remove or restrict disputed content while reviewing a complaint.

21. Moderation and Enforcement

CanadaDate may use automated tools, technical controls, user reports, and human review to operate and protect the service.

CanadaDate may, at its discretion:

• Remove or limit content.
• Issue warnings.
• Restrict messaging or uploads.
• Remove visibility from discovery results.
• Suspend or terminate accounts.
• Preserve evidence.
• Prevent creation of replacement accounts.
• Report conduct to payment providers, service providers, or authorities where appropriate.

CanadaDate is not required to disclose confidential security methods, reporter identities, internal evidence, or detailed moderation procedures.

Failure to act on one violation does not waive CanadaDate’s right to act on that or another violation later.

22. Account Suspension and Termination

You may stop using CanadaDate at any time and may request account deletion using available account controls or support options.

CanadaDate may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where it reasonably believes that:

• These Terms were violated.
• The account presents a safety or security risk.
• The account is fraudulent or misleading.
• A payment is unauthorized, reversed, or disputed.
• The account is being used to evade enforcement.
• Continued service may expose CanadaDate or another person to harm or liability.
• Termination is necessary to comply with law.

Where appropriate, CanadaDate may provide notice or an opportunity to respond. Immediate action may be taken in urgent safety, fraud, abuse, or legal situations.

Termination does not erase obligations or liabilities that arose before termination.

23. Third-Party Services

CanadaDate may use or link to third-party services such as payment processors, mapping providers, hosting providers, analytics services, email providers, or external websites.

CanadaDate does not control independent third-party services and is not responsible for their availability, content, actions, security, or policies.

Your use of a third-party service may be governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy.

24. Service Availability

CanadaDate aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

The service may be unavailable because of:

• Maintenance.
• Updates.
• Security work.
• Internet or hosting failures.
• Third-party service interruptions.
• Software defects.
• Events outside CanadaDate’s reasonable control.

CanadaDate may change, suspend, discontinue, or replace part of the service. Where a substantial failure affects a paid service, CanadaDate will address it in accordance with the Refund Policy and applicable law.

25. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CanadaDate is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.

CanadaDate does not guarantee:

• The identity, honesty, conduct, intentions, or safety of members.
• That profiles or content are complete or accurate.
• That members will respond or remain active.
• Any particular dating, social, or personal result.
• That every harmful account or item of content will be detected.
• That the service will always be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors.

Nothing in this section excludes a warranty, condition, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

26. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CanadaDate and SingleBuck Technologies will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from:

• Member conduct or communications.
• Meetings or relationships between members.
• Reliance on profile information.
• Loss of content or data.
• Unauthorized account access.
• Service interruption.
• Third-party services.
• Failure to obtain a match, message, reply, or desired outcome.

Where liability cannot be excluded, CanadaDate’s total liability relating to a paid service will be limited to the amount you paid CanadaDate for the affected service during the six months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, unless applicable law requires a different remedy.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including where required for fraud, wilful misconduct, or another non-excludable obligation.

27. Responsibility for Your Conduct

You are responsible for your account, content, communications, and interactions.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate CanadaDate and SingleBuck Technologies for reasonable losses, claims, expenses, or liabilities resulting from:

• Content you submit.
• Your unlawful conduct.
• Your infringement of another person’s rights.
• Your material violation of these Terms.
• Your unauthorized use of another person’s account or information.

This section does not require a consumer to compensate CanadaDate for losses caused by CanadaDate’s own negligence, misconduct, or breach of law.

28. Changes to These Terms

CanadaDate may update these Terms to reflect changes to the platform, business practices, technology, security requirements, or legal obligations.

The updated Terms will show a revised effective date.

Where a change materially affects an active paid service, CanadaDate may provide notice through the website, account, or email before the change takes effect.

Continued use after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept a material change, you must stop using the service and cancel future renewals.

29. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Subject to any consumer right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes relating to these Terms or CanadaDate will be brought before the courts located in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent relief or exercising a right available under applicable consumer-protection law.

30. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

CanadaDate’s failure to enforce a provision does not waive its right to enforce it later.

You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without written permission from CanadaDate. CanadaDate may transfer these Terms as part of a business reorganization, sale, merger, or transfer of the platform.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, checkout information, and any product-specific terms, form the entire agreement relating to your use of CanadaDate.

Section headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.

Provisions that should reasonably continue after account closure—including ownership, payment obligations, enforcement, disclaimers, liability limitations, and dispute provisions—will survive termination.
